چکیده

Vehicular Adhoc Networks (VANETs) are an emerging and promising technology that enables vehicles to communicate with roadside units (RSUs) other vehicles. VANETs contribute improved traffic efficiency, accident safety, entertainment services for passengers drivers. However, face limitations in areas intermittent connectivity. To address this scenario, researchers have proposed a specialized use-case known as intermittently-connected-vehicular delay-tolerant-networks (ICV-DTNs), which subset of (DTNs). Security is less explored area compare routing. Malicious nodes pose significant threats by launching selective packet drops, fake/bogus packets, flood attacks, depleting limited resources such bandwidth node buffer space. Consequently, these attacks result low message delivery ratios high loss ratios. Among particularly challenging ICV-DTNs. Various algorithms been mitigate but previous approaches exhibited shortcomings. Firstly, previously lack efficiency terms detection time accuracy. Secondly, the extent resource waste or savings after implementing schemes has not adequately demonstrated, no simulation results quantifying amount consumption. Additionally, prior comprehensive definition represents critical research question field. gaps, article only unique taxonomy flooding also evaluate various on diverse parameters. Stochastic Analysis of Delay Statistics for Intermittently Connected Vehicular Networks

We analyze information delivery over a network where direct data exchange via wireless is not possible and therefore intermittent connection through vehicular relaying is used. We refer to a multi-hop scenario where a stationary unit exchanges data packets with a destination outside its communication range, using passing-by vehicles as information carriers. In such a context, we propose an exac...

A survey of protocols for Intermittently Connected Delay-Tolerant Wireless Sensor Networks

Intermittently Connected Delay-TolerantWireless Sensor Networks (ICDT-WSNs), a branch of Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs), have features of WSNs and the intermittent connectivity of Delay-Tolerant Networks (DTNs). The applications of ICDT-WSNs are increasing in recent years, however, the communication protocols suitable for this category of networks often fall short. Most of the existing communi...

Vehicular Delay-Tolerant Networks

Vehicular Delay-Tolerant Networks (VDTNs) are composed of mobile nodes that communicate wirelessly with each other to forward data despite connectivity issues. This paper focuses on the problem of some nodes trying to impair the communication of a VDTN. In the paper we study the case of nodes that delay the forwarding of messages that is a particularly difficult to detect form of misbehavior. W...

Vehicular Delay-Tolerant Networks

—There are problems of low delivery radio and high transmission delay in Vehicular Delay-Tolerant Networks (a.b. VDTN. To address these problems, this paper proposes a Vehicular Delay-tolerant Network routing algorithm based on Contention (a.b. VDNC). VDTN algorithm consists of three strategies: the intersection selection strategy based on the Manhattan distance and traffic information, the fi...

Vehicular Delay Tolerant Networks

Traditional networks suppose the existence of some path between endpoints, small end to end round-trip delay time, and loss ratio. Today, however, new applications, environments and types of devices are challenging these assumptions. In Delay Tolerant Networks (DTNs), an end-to-end path from source to destination may not exist. Nodes may connect and exchange information in an opportunistic way....
